1. Introduction & Service Scope

Bench Hour is an educational software service operated by Dental Apptitude (“we”, “us”, “our”), accessible via our dedicated web applications and cross-linked from dentalapptitude.com. Bench Hour provides structured, verifiable Continuing Professional Development (CPD) modules, automated knowledge checks, reflective logging tools, and audit-ready transcripts for registered Dental Technicians and Clinical Dental Technicians (CDTs).

2. Professional Registration & GDC Compliance

Bench Hour is designed to satisfy the quality assurance and verifiable criteria established by the UK General Dental Council (GDC) Enhanced CPD scheme. However:

• Subscribers are solely responsible for accurately declaring their CPD hours, GDC registration numbers, and completed development outcomes on their personal MyGDC portal.
• Subscribers certify that all reflective learning statements submitted through the service are their own authentic work and accurately reflect their laboratory or clinical practice.
• For Clinical Dental Technicians (CDTs) requiring 15 hours annually (75 hours over a 5-year cycle), Bench Hour provides 12 hours annually of technical and laboratory CPD. CDTs acknowledge their personal duty to source their remaining clinical/patient-facing hours independently.

3. Subscriptions, Billing & Cancellations

Bench Hour subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis via our secure payment processor (Stripe).

• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled prior to the renewal date via the billing portal.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Your access to active CPD modules and certificate generation remains active until the end of your current paid billing period.
• Access to Prior Records: Upon cancellation or lapse of subscription, previously issued and earned CPD certificates remain archived in accordance with statutory retention requirements.

4. Intellectual Property

All educational texts, bench tips, multiple-choice question banks, illustrations, software code, and certificate templates are the exclusive intellectual property of Dental Apptitude. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read modules and generate personal CPD certificates. Commercial redistribution, scraping, re-publishing, or unauthorized reproduction of course material is strictly prohibited.

5. Limitation of Liability

Technical articles and CPD guidance are provided for professional educational purposes only and do not constitute formal clinical or legal prescription advice. Dental Apptitude is not liable for indirect, consequential, or regulatory losses arising from third-party audit decisions or individual practice disputes.
